- 22+ Photoshows a yr ~ mixture of showtrains (two 4-mo runs), regular
monthly point shows (2 per month), free clinics (1 per yr), special benefits,
plus yearly NATIONALS in which models must qualify for individually. Also have
separate monthly racing circuit running Feb-June, July-Dec.
- 13) Cost to Show:
- Clinics are free, point shows $1 each, trains $4 (4 mo's) plus postage,
benefits vary, NATIONALS are free. Race fees are $1 per mo, $4 for 6
months, & $8 for 11 months.
- 14) Awards Given (Type, Monthly, Annually, etc.):
- Hi-Point Year-End Awards including Halter, Performance, and Combined
Halter and Performance Divisions (36 in all) as well as Model of the Year. We
also have accumulative awards including Region of Merit (1000 pts.), Legion of
Merit (2000 pts.), and Hall of Fame (3000 pts.) In addtion, we offer Incentive
awards like the ALES Live Show Ambassador, ALES Photo Show Ambassador, ALES
Miles Award, ALES Pursuit of Excellence Award, and ALES "Versatility Hall
of Fame" Award for folks who promote their long ears against horses in
regular live and photo shows.

- "The Model Bray-er," bimonthly, $12 yr/USA, $18/Canada,
$24/other Foreign. Sample copy $2/USA $5/foreign personal check or money
order ok. Newsletter averages 22-24 pages per issue, mailed flat @ first class.
Contains articles, how-to's, club news, show results (just champs), photos,
ads, variety of columns, etc.

- Registrations are required. In order to have your points/placings count
towards ALES NATIONALS, Accumulatives, and the ROM's programs, you must register
your models within 30 days of showing. Contact Registrar/Show Director for list
of specs wanted. Upon joining ALES you will be assigned a special Member/Shower
ID # of which your model registrations will be based on.

- Other than being breed specific, there are no other special requirements.
You DO NOT even have to own a longear or exotic model just to join up. You DO
NOT even have to show to be a member of this club. Amount of club participation
is left entirely up to the member.

- To date ALES is the only MODEL club to ever be affiliated with a REAL or
LIVE breed registry/association, the ADMS (American Donkey & Mule Society),
and as such, is honored to be allowed eligibility in competing in their Awards
program (for breed promotion).
