This is a club for showing breeds and types of horses usually lumped in general other breed classes at most shows. Breeds not permitted in the club are: Arabian, Appaloosa, Paint, Quarter Horse, Thoroughbred, Morgan, American Saddlebred, Tennessee Walking Horse, Belgian, Clydesdale and these crosses: QH/TB, QH/Paint, QH/Appy, TB/Paint, TB/Appy. All other breeds, crossbreeds and types of equines including mules, zebra, donkeys, etc are welcome.

$6.00 (good for one year), horse registrations are free once you are a member.

Monthly free photo shows, multiple MOB benefit shows each year, also members are allowed to accrue points from outside shows if the shows are advertised in the MOB newsletter.

Monthly shows are free, Benefits usually cost $2-$4, outside shows have variable costs.

14) Awards Given (Type, Monthly, Annually, etc.):

Annual year end awards based on halter and/or performance points. Awards vary from certificates to prizes. Award system is currently being revamped to provide more awards.

15) Club Newsletter (Description, how often published, cost, etc.):

MOB publishes a newsletter every two months that features breed profiles of "Other Breeds", an Internet column, club news/changes/updates. All members are listed with address and email address. Results of recently held shows are often included along with a list of the top ten or top twenty point earners to date. Other articles may include performance profiles, tack making, prop/obstacle making, photo taking, how to photo show, how to assign breeds to your OF models, member profiles, horse profiles, etc. Generally the newsletter is 10-12 pages on 8.5 x 11 size paper (larger if articles are received) and is done on an IBM Pentium in Microsoft Word for Windows. Back issues of the newsletter are available to non-members for $1.50 each (contact Kirsten Dahl).

16) Cost to Advertise (members/nonmembers):

$1.00 per ad (up to 1 page in size). Non-member ads welcome at same price. Members allowed two classified free in each issue. Non-member classified ads welcome, cost is $.25 each up to 60 words, $.50 each over 60 words including name, address, etc.

Yes, registration of horses is free.

Current president and newsletter editor is Kirsten Dahl. Registrations/Pointkeeper is Rhapsody Rhodes. Marsha McNamee keeps the club sire/dam book.

20) Other Comments/Info:

MOB benefit photo shows count as 5x points for MOB registered horses, while monthly MOB photo shows count as 2x and outside shows count as 1x. MOB has a sire/dam book that is currently not very active but plans are to reactivate it if members are interested. Members are encouraged to participate in the club decisions, such as the revamping of the year end awards or making changes to the photo show class list. Members are also encouraged to judge monthly photo shows and/or benefit shows. All letters to the president/editor are read and acted upon and improvements are made whenever possible. Prospective members are encouraged to write for information and a rule sheet (send SASE).
